Jaguar XKE Type Workshop

Workshop Manuals and How Tos

Even if you are an experienced mechanic, it's still helpful to have a technical workshop manual to refer to once in a while. In addition to workshop manuals, there are also helpful blogs and websites that share their experiences and expertise working on Jaguar E-Types. Below is a description of the two workshop manuals I have used. You can also supplement these with information on the web. I will also be adding articles from time to time.

Bentley's The Complete Official Jaguar "E"

Bentley The Complete Official Jaguar E Bentley's workshop manual applies to the 3.8 liter and 4.2 liter Jaguar E Types which span from 1961 to 1971. Although it also pertains to the Series 2, information for these later year 4.2 liter models are added as almost an addendum. It's still helpful however. This manual contains enough specifications and technical details to get the job done. However, the English is not quite what we're used to in the United States.

Hayne's Jaguar E Type Owners Workshop Manual

Bentley The Complete Official Jaguar E Hayne's workshop manual looks to draw off the Bentley workshop manual. It's a lighter version than the Bentley manual. Unfortunately, it omits certain procedures and information that it does not feel the reader should attempt as if certain things were beyond their mechanical skill level. Fortunately, Bentley's manual is much more thorough and helpful if you need to attack these things.
